Welcome and thank you for dropping by. I am just getting started so I only have a few items available at this time. This is a test to see how well they sell. Please let me know what you think!

How this site works

Below you will find the items I have available for sale. If you are interested in one simply leave me a comment or email me and I will be in touch with you. I am open to suggestions (including colors you'd like to see in a sling). So please write me with any ideas or comments.

About the Slings

Description: Each sling is made with 100% cotton fabric which has been pre-washed. They are sewn with double thickness for strength. Each one has a large zipper pocket at the end. All slings are machine washable for easy care.

Size:
The slings come in one size which fits most. However, if you are a larger person the end may be to short and if you are smaller you may have the end around your knees which is annoying if you have items in the pocket. So if you feel you may need a sling in a different size please contact me and I'll be happy to help you. But remember, the size is dependant on you not the child.

Rings: I order my rings from slingrings.com. They have been put through rigorous testing to insure they are strong and toxic free.

How to use: Slings have many advantages but can be tricky to become comfortable with at first. Click below on "How to use the sling" and then scroll down for pictures and instructions on differant carrying postions.

Putting the Sling On

Lay the rings in front of your shoulder. Pull the cloth around so that it lays flat across your back.

Pull the fabric up through both rings.

Put the fabric over the top ring and pull it back through the bottom ring.

To adjust the sling pull on the end of it. By pulling on different edges you can adjust the sling to fit exactly the way you want.

Hint: Once I have the sling adjusted I like to leave it in, or close to, that position. This makes it very fast and easy when you put it on the next time.

Wearing the Sling

Cradle Hold-newborn to 6 months

Pull one side of the sling up against your chest to make a deep pocket. Carefully lay the baby in the pocket while supporting his body. Pull on the end of the sling to adjust it to the position you like. If you feel the child is too deep you can pull more fabric up against your chest. This position is great for nursing. You can pull the end or the sling over you and lay it across your shoulder for complete coverage.

Yes, that's a baby doll. Evan's a bit big for this position! :)

Cozy Hold-new born to 6 months

Gently place your child in the sling vertically with his tummy facing yours. Pull the bottom of the sling under his bottom to the bend in his knee and tighten. If the child does not have neck control yet pull the sling up around his head and tighten till secure, otherwise, bring the sling around the shoulders.

You can also use the cozy hold for an older child. Start with the child in the hip carry position (see below) and simply rotate him to the front of your body with his legs straddling your body. This is a good position if the child is tired.

Kangaroo Carry-babies with good head control

As with the cradle hold, pull the side of the sling up against your chest to make a deep pocket. Cross your child's legs and place him in the sling in a sitting position with his back to you.

Hip Carry-children who can sit, up to a 35 lb. toddler

Place the child inside the sling with his legs straddling your hip. Bring the bottom of the sling underneath his bottom and to the bend in his knee. The top of the sling should come to just below his arms.

This is my favorite position for a variety of reasons. It feels very natural and your hip takes most of the weight. It also is a great position when you are busy because you can quickly slide the child toward the back and bring your arm in front so you have the use of both hands. Then, you can just as easily slide them back to the side then to the front for a quick hug!

Back Carry-Children who are a little older, up to 35 lb.

Put the sling on with the rings slightly behind your shoulder. Place the child into the hip carry position and carefully slide them to the back.
